Move from Pixieset or Pic-Time

Bring your galleries, clients and portfolio over to Xposure by hand, without leaving a client without their photos.

Xposure has no importer. You move each gallery yourself: download the originals from your old service, upload them here and send your client the new link. Plan an evening for a few galleries and keep the old account running until the move is done.

Decide what to move

  1. List the galleries your clients still use: open deliveries, galleries still selling, anything with a closing date ahead. Galleries that are finished can stay where they are until the old account ends.
  2. Add up their originals and leave room for previews. A RAW counts about 1.6 times its size. Every photo counts toward your storage: 20 GB on Starter, 250 GB on Pro and 2 TB on Studio. Extra storage comes in 50 GB blocks under Settings, Plan & Billing.

Export from your old service

  1. Download the full-size originals of each gallery you move, one folder per gallery. On Pro and Studio, if your edits live in Lightroom Classic, you can export from there straight into Xposure instead. See Upload from Lightroom Classic.
  2. Write down, per gallery: your client's name and email, the PIN, the closing date, what they may download for free and any prices.
  1. In Galleries, select New gallery, keep Client gallery and select Next. Pick the starting point that matches how the gallery worked. For the next galleries, choose Copy another gallery: it takes the settings of one you already set up, without its photos.
  2. Open the exported folder, select all the photos in it and drag them onto the gallery. A folder itself cannot be dropped. Photos already in the gallery are skipped, so you can drop them again after a failed upload. See Check upload limits and duplicates.
  3. If the old gallery had sets, split this one into sets. See Arrange your gallery.
  4. Open Settings, then People. If your client knows a 4-digit PIN from the old gallery, type it in Client PIN so it keeps working. PINs here are always 4 digits, so any other PIN changes.
  5. Set the free downloads, the closing date and, if you sell, the watermark. See Choose what your client can download, Set when a gallery closes and Add a watermark.

To sell from a gallery, connect Stripe first.

Note: Favourites, notes, guest lists and past orders stay on your old service. Keep a copy of anything you still need from them.

The old links do not lead to Xposure, so every client needs the new one.

  1. In each gallery, select Send to client.
  2. Add a line to the message saying the gallery has moved. The link and the PIN are added below it.

See Send the gallery to your client.

Move your portfolio and domain

  1. Add your best work and your profile. See Set up your portfolio.
  2. When it is ready, open Portfolio. Under Custom domain, type your domain and select Save changes.
  3. Add the DNS records it shows at your domain provider, then select Verify.

From then on your domain shows your Xposure portfolio, not the old site. Your own domain needs Starter or above.

Close the old account last

Keep the old account until every client has the new link and has downloaded what they need. In each gallery, the Insights tab shows Who has been in, with each person's visits and downloads over the last 90 days. Cancel the old service once your clients show up there.
