Add a video to a gallery

Place a YouTube or Vimeo film in a gallery's layout, with a poster photo and a title.

Paid plansUpdated

A video block plays a film from YouTube or Vimeo inside the gallery. The film stays on YouTube or Vimeo, so it does not use your storage. It loads only when your client presses play.

Video blocks are available on Starter, Pro and Studio.

Add the block

  1. Upload the film to YouTube or Vimeo and copy its link. Public and unlisted films both work.
  2. Open the gallery and select Edit layout.
  3. In a section, select Add block and choose Video. Add a section first if the gallery has none.
  4. Paste the link in Link. The panel says "YouTube video found." or "Vimeo video found." when it can play it.
  5. Pick a Shape: 16:9, 9:16, 4:3 or 2.39:1.
  6. Optionally type a Title, shown under the film, and select Choose a poster to show a photo from the gallery until your client presses play.
  7. Select Apply, then Save layout.

On a client gallery, saving shows the new layout to your client. Select Preview first to see it as they will.

Links to a single film work: a YouTube watch, share, Shorts or live link, or a Vimeo film link, including an unlisted one. A playlist, a channel or a Vimeo showcase does not.

Important: On Vimeo, open the film's privacy settings and allow embedding on xposureapp.net, and on your own domain if you use one. Otherwise the film does not play in the gallery.

To change the film later, open the layout and select the block's edit button (Edit the film).

If your plan drops below Starter, the block stays in your layout but visitors no longer see it. It comes back when you upgrade.
