Connect Google Calendar
Let your Google Calendar block booking times, and have every confirmed booking added to it.
Once connected, busy times in your Google Calendar stop clients booking over them, and each confirmed booking appears in your calendar.
Connect it
- Open Availability and select Calendars.
- Under Google Calendar, select Connect.
- Pick your Google account and allow access to your calendars.
- Back on Availability, the banner reads "Google Calendar connected" and Calendars opens.
- Under Check these calendars for busy times, tick every calendar that should block bookings. Your primary calendar is ticked to start with.
Only the account owner can connect Google Calendar. In a studio, each photographer connects their own in their own account.
What it does
- Busy events in the ticked calendars block start times, including the buffers around a session.
- When a booking is confirmed, it is added to your primary Google calendar with the package and the client's name.
- Cancelling a booking removes the event. Rescheduling moves it.
If it does not connect
- "Calendar permission was not granted" means the calendar box was unticked on Google's screen. Select Connect again and allow it.
- "Google did not finish the connection" means Google skipped a step. Remove Xposure at myaccount.google.com/permissions, then select Connect again.
Note: If Google cannot be reached, start times are worked out without your Google events until it answers again. Block days that must stay free with time off in Set your availability.
Disconnect
In Calendars, select Disconnect and confirm. Your busy times stop blocking start times, and new bookings are no longer added. Events already in your calendar stay, and are no longer updated.
For Apple, Outlook or another calendar, see Import another calendar.
