Import another calendar

Add a calendar link from Apple, Outlook or any other app so its busy times block booking times, and show your bookings in that app.

Any calendar that gives you a link (ICS) can block your booking times: iCloud, Outlook, Fastmail, Proton, or a second Google account.

  1. Open Availability and select Calendars.
  2. Under Other calendars, select Add a calendar link.
  3. Paste the link, starting with webcal:// or https://, into Calendar link. Where do I find the link? shows the steps for Google, Outlook, iCloud, Fastmail and Proton. Pick a busy-only link where your calendar offers one.
  4. Give it a Name if you like, such as "Home".
  5. Select Add calendar. Xposure reads it straight away and shows how many busy times it found in the next 30 days.

You can add up to 5 links. Each is read again every 10 minutes. Events marked free or cancelled are left out, and tentative ones count as busy.

Important: Some calendar apps take longer than 10 minutes to update their link, so a new event can take a while to block a time. For a day that must not be booked, add time off in Set your availability.

The line under each link says when it was last updated. If Xposure cannot read a link, it keeps using the last copy for 72 hours. You get an email after a day of failures, and another when the link stops blocking times. Select the refresh icon to try again now, or remove the link and add the new one.

Show your bookings in your calendar app

This works the other way round: your Xposure bookings appear in Apple Calendar, Outlook or any app that subscribes to a calendar.

  1. Open Bookings and select Subscribe in your calendar.
  2. Select Create link, then Copy.
  3. In your calendar app, add a subscribed calendar from that link.

Calendar apps refresh it on their own schedule, so it can lag by up to an hour. Anyone with the link sees your session times and client names. If it was shared by mistake, select Reset link.
