Get your site ready for search engines
See what Xposure sets up for search engines on its own, and write the titles and descriptions that appear in search results.
Xposure prepares every public page for search engines. You write the titles and descriptions people read in the results. Search engines decide if and when your pages appear, so none of this guarantees a place in the results.
What Xposure does for you
- Lists your homepage, pages, portfolio albums and posts in a sitemap. With a custom domain, the domain gets its own sitemap at
/sitemap.xml. - Gives each page a title and description. Without your own, the homepage title is built from your name and your Location, and the description from your Bio.
- Points search engines at your custom domain as the main address once one is connected.
- Keeps client galleries, PIN screens and your dashboard out of search engines.
Write a title and description
- In the Site builder, open a page and expand Page settings.
- Fill in Title in search results, up to 70 characters. Name what you shoot and where.
- Fill in Description in search results, up to 160 characters.
- Select Publish.
A post has the same two fields under Settings in the post editor. Its description is also the summary in your posts list. Left empty, the first paragraph is used.
When pages are kept out of search
Your pages still open for everyone. They are only marked so search engines leave them out of results.
- No signature work. Your site needs at least one photo in Signature Work.
- Free plan. The portfolio also needs Display full name on portfolio switched on with your name filled in, a bio of at least 120 characters and at least 6 signature photos.
- Posts during a trial. Posts stay out while you are on a trial, and for the first 14 days after your first paid subscription starts.
- Draft and locked pages. A draft page, or a page past your plan's page limit, is not listed.
Pages come back into the sitemap on their own once they qualify.
Note: Changes reach search engines when they next visit your site. That can take days or weeks.
To fill in your name, bio and location, see Set up your portfolio.
