Check and approve print orders

Check the crops and files of a new print order, fix a print that needs it and send the order to the lab.

Paid plansUpdated

Every print order your client pays for waits for your check before it goes to the lab. An order for a printed album alone goes straight to the lab, because your client already approved its proof. You are responsible for the crops, files and colours you send.

When an order comes in, you get an email headed "New print order to check", and the order shows on your dashboard overview.

Check an order

  1. Open Prints. The Orders tab opens on Needs approval.
  2. Open the order. Under Prints, look at each print with the crop your client chose.
  3. Read the warnings on a print, if any:
    • May look slightly soft at this size.
    • Too few pixels for this size. Flag it and upload a larger file.
    • Colour profile unknown. The lab prints it as sRGB.
  4. Select Approve and send to the lab.

The order is sent to the lab shortly after.

Important: An order you do not review is sent to the lab automatically after 3 days. The order shows when, and you get one reminder email in the last 24 hours.

Fix a print

  1. On the print, select Flag for correction. The order goes on hold and is not sent until you approve it.
  2. Select Choose corrected file, pick your file and select Upload. Tick Already cropped to print the file whole, without your client's crop. JPEG or PNG, up to 95 MB.
  3. When every flagged print has a file, select Approve and send to the lab.

Clear flag prints the original instead.

Reject an order

Select Reject and refund, add an optional reason for your client, and confirm. Your client gets back what they paid for the prints and shipping. The lab cost and print fee come back to you, Stripe's processing fee does not. Downloads bought in the same order stay theirs. Once the lab has started printing, an order can no longer be rejected.

After approval

The lab makes the prints and ships them. The order moves through Approved, At the lab, In production and Shipped, and you get an email when it ships. Your client gets the tracking link. See Order prints from your gallery for what your client sees.

Your client chooses Budget, Standard or Express shipping at checkout and pays for it, unless your price sheet gives free shipping. Express is offered only when the price sheet allows it, and never for a printed album.

The Money section of the order shows what your client paid, the tax, the lab cost and shipping, the fees and Your profit.
