Pricing breakdown
How much does Format cost?
Format is a portfolio website builder for creatives that also ships client galleries. It caps both how many images your site holds and how much storage you get, and the entry plan includes no image storage at all, which makes it awkward to compare directly against gallery-first platforms.
Format plans
Format meters by mixed. Platform fee on sales: Not a commission model; sales handled via connected store.

Checked on 2026-08-14 against https://www.format.com/pricing. Prices in USD. Format was running a promotion when checked; the "normally" figures are recorded here, not the discounted ones. Format can change its pricing at any time, so treat this as a snapshot rather than a quote.
What the pricing page does not make obvious
Two limits apply at once: image count and storage
Basic allows 70 high-resolution images and includes no image storage at all. Pro allows 1,500 images with 100 GB of storage, and Pro Plus is unlimited images with 1 TB. Both ceilings bind independently, so a plan can run out on either one. Comparing Format on gigabytes alone misses the image cap, and comparing on image count alone misses that the entry plan has no storage.
Client galleries are capped and separate from file transfers
Basic includes 10 client galleries and 2 GB of file transfers; Pro includes 50 galleries and 5 GB. Those are two different limits doing two different jobs, and the transfer allowance is the one that tends to bite first when delivering full-resolution work.
Gallery password protection is not on the entry plan
Basic lists gallery password protection, CRM Light and client contracts as unavailable. If PIN or password protecting a client delivery is part of your workflow, Basic is not a candidate regardless of its price.
The listed prices were promotional when checked
Format was running a discount at the time of checking, showing Pro at $12/mo against a normal $24/mo monthly rate. The figures in the table are the standard ones, because a promotional rate is not what you renew at.

For context
